My life is a hiccup

We’ll it feels like it. After spending 4 - 9 hour days having the blood literally drawn from me of course there are repercussions. my body just doesn’t bounce back that quickly. I’ve told everyone time again that my Metabolism/healing is slower but no one wants to really listen. So now we find ourselves here - in the hospital - not to start stem cell replacement but to recover. My white blood cell count is in the toilet and red was also low so they gave me a transfusion. But that’s not what started this. It was the fever. I’ve had fevers before. The first one came on in the night with chills and went to 101. I took some Tylenol and sweated it out. I thought it was over. Silly girl. That next day was one of hottest of the year 98 degrees And humid. But I was cold constants so I kept going outside to ”warm” up blaming the air conditioning in my house for the cold. Next thing I knew I had shivers and vomiting and my temperature spiked to 104.3. (That’s the rock station in NY - but this was no rock). We called the doctors and they said they got me a room - come in.

thats were I am now. A nice room with a spectacular view of the nyc skyline. I’ve been hot and cold ever since. it could be my low white blood count making the fevers but they need to rule out all infections.

All I know now is my doctors are coming with a new plan on my stem cell which means a delay. You see you have to be healthy before they kill all the healthy cells in your body. Sounds crazy to me but they’re the drs.

who knows what hiccup will happen next?

Thinking of you, praying you'll turn the corner soon and all this craziness (big hiccup) in your life will be over soon and you will be on the upside of your recovery! Sending a big hug ... love, Karen
